Bonfires, fireworks, barbeques, and camp fires are all essential parts of our summers. But, according to the United States Fire Administration, more than 10,000 Americans are injured each year by fireworks, the vast majority occur between June 22 and July22. The danger zone is cumming up! But then on top of that, another 5,000 are burned by charcoal or propane-fueled grills. We want to make sure all our clients, friends, and family are safe this summer so we have scooped up some fire safety tips for you. So have fun and stay healthy!
Safety for the Grill:
1. Always check the venturi tubes from the propane tank to the fuel line are not blocked!
2. Do not overfill the propane tank.
3. Never add lighter fluid to an already lit fire.
4. To dispose of hot coals, douse them with plenty of water, and stir them to ensure that the fire is out. Never place them in plastic, paper or wood.
5. Never grill in enclosed areas; carbon-monoxide is often produced.
Campfires/ Bonfires
1. Always look up before lighting a fire, trees or overhanging roofs can catch fire.
2. Never leave fires unattended.
3. Start fires during daylight while you can still see the surrounding area well.
