“Stay informed, stay alert, and stay safe.”, says Stacey Johnson from Your Insurance Gal Agency.

Unfortunately, Medicare scams are on the rise—especially during enrollment periods and following natural disasters or public health events. Scammers target seniors by posing as Medicare representatives to steal personal or financial information.

At Your Insurance Gal Agency, protecting your health and your security is our priority. Here’s how to spot and stop Medicare fraud:

Common Red Flags:

  • Unsolicited calls asking for your Medicare number or Social Security information.
  • Offers for “free” genetic testing or medical equipment you didn’t request.
  • Callers who pressure you to act fast or switch plans immediately.
  • Fake websites or emails posing as Medicare.

What You Can Do:

  • Never share your Medicare ID number over the phone unless you initiated the call.
  • Hang up on unsolicited calls—even if they seem official.
  • Check with us before agreeing to any changes or offers. We’re happy to verify if something is legitimate.
  • Report suspicious activity to Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE or the local Senior Medicare Patrol.

Remember: Medicare will never call or visit you to sell anything. If in doubt, give us a call at (360) 771-1155. Stacey Johnson and our team are here to answer your questions and help you stay protected. Contact us today!
